The school will be closed on Monday 19 September as a mark of respect on the day of Her Majesty The Queen's funeral.

At the Clinton Church of England School, all pupils are supported by the teachers as individuals to strive to be inspiring changemakers in a caring, family and community-centred rural environment. Our C360 curriculum offers an opportunity for children to explore their own talents as well as learn new skills. This is laid out within our four cornerstones;

    *    Academic (Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills)

    *    Character (Hope, aspiration and courageous Advocacy)

    *    Community (and living well together, dignity and respect)

    *    Innovation

The land our school is built on was generously donated by Lord and Lady Clinton.

This is a Church of England Primary School in the Diocese of Exeter. Recognising the historic foundation the school will preserve and develop the religious character in accordance with the principles and practice of the Church of England and in partnership with the Churches in the Parish and Diocese.

The school aims to serve its communities by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers its pupils.

‘Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him.’

Colossians 2:7

Primary School sets the foundation for lifelong learning and we strive to ensure that when children leave our setting to move onto secondary school they already have the tools to be courageous advocates for their own, their communities and the world's future.

Together we nurture, love and learn whilst inspiring changemakers

Last week we had a spontaneous visit from a mobile speed van which was working in the village. The children from Nursery and Kingfishers were shown inside the van; they showed their curiosity - listened to what is done, why and how. It was a great experience for the children, learning more about the people who help us in our community. #community ... See MoreSee Less

Our People - Daniel Bashford - The Clinton C of E School and Dolton Church of England School - KS2 TeacherI have been at Dolton since September 2023. I currently teach the whole of Key Stage 2 from both Dolton and The Clinton schools. I also lead on subjects such as English, PE, music and D&T. Prior to training to be a teacher I was an outdoor instructor, where I worked in centres across Britain and the world, I was fortunate enough to work in some amazing places such as North Wales, Australia and New Zealand. Through my travels and work teaching children outside, I try to bring as much real-world and practical knowledge into the classroom as possible. I am passionate about delivering the best education for all the children that I teach and ensure that each one reaches their potential. Outside of school, I enjoy spending as much time outside as possible, either walking my two dogs with my wife and one-year-old or out running on roads and trails all over North Devon. My character strengths are humour, leadership and love of learning, which I try to demonstrate to the children every day. ... See MoreSee Less
